JHU VC Austin Nosike Receives UNN Alumni Icons Award

The University of Nigeria Alumni Association has honoured the Vice Chancellor of James Hope University (JHU), Lagos, Prof. Austin Nosike, with an Icons Award at a ceremony to mark the association’s 65th Founders’ Celebration.

The event, which held at GIA Event Enterprise, Aba, on Friday, October 3, 2025, was attended by notable figures from academia, business, and the corporate world.

Prof. Nosike expressed gratitude for the recognition, describing the ceremony as “a moment of celebration and recognition” for the university community.

The ceremony highlighted the achievements of alumni and reinforced the institution’s place in shaping Nigeria’s intellectual and political landscape.

Nosike, a Professor of Economics and Management, graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) in 1993.

He assumed duty as Vice Chancellor at JHU, Lekki, Lagos, in September 2025, after years of teaching and research across several countries, including Burundi and Zambia, where he was appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the International University of Equator (IUE), Bujumbura, and  Copperstone University (CU), Kitwe.

A month before assuming office as JHU VC, he was appointed President and Governing Board Member of the African Institute of Management, Technology and Development Studies (AIMTDS), Rwanda.
