GUSAU | OCT 31: Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has disclosed that his administration would partner with the management of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, in several capacity-building areas such as mechanised farming, education, and the training and retraining of civil servants for quality service delivery.

He made the promise on Friday when the top management of ABU, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adamu Ahmed, paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House in Gusau.

The governor, who described the institution as “one of the best schools in the world”, stated that apart from mechanised farming, his government is also keenly interested in partnering with ABU in intellectual and capacity building for civil servants and top government officials.

We understand the importance and crucial roles of civil servants in governance, and as such, we will tap from ABU’s academic and administrative strength in broadening governance in Zamfara,” the governor said.

Lawal, who earned his first and second degrees from ABU at the Department of Political Science in 1987 and 1992 respectively, said the quality of teaching and non-teaching staff at the institution made working with ABU non-negotiable.
