The Federal Ministry of Youth Development has reopened the application portal for the second batch of the Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalization Programme (YEIDEP), giving more Nigerian youths the chance to benefit from the government-backed empowerment scheme.

  • Registration open for Batch B of the YEIDEP opens on Monday, October 27, 2025
  • Programme targets youth entrepreneurship and de-radicalization

The Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalization Programme (YEIDEP), formerly known as the Nigerian Youth Economic Engagement and De-Radicalization Programme (NIYEEDEP), is designed to transform unemployed young Nigerians into job creators while curbing the risks of radicalization.

According to the Ministry, YEIDEP seeks to promote peace, self-reliance, and national development through four core areas: poverty alleviation, job creation, food security, and de-radicalization. The programme’s key activities are built around the agricultural value chain, including livestock, crop farming, food processing, packaging, and distribution, with a view to creating thousands of youth-led enterprises nationwide.

Eligibility and Application

The ongoing registration is open to Nigerian youths with valid National Identification Numbers (NIN) and Bank Verification Numbers (BVN). Applicants must show interest in entrepreneurship, particularly in agriculture or related ventures.

Registration is strictly through the official YEIDEP portal, and interested candidates are urged to apply early while the window remains open.

Beneficiaries are selected from a range of sectors such as fisheries, poultry, crop farming, logistics, and agro-processing.

Funding Support

YEIDEP provides both grants and soft loans, depending on the applicant’s business category and scale. Grants range between ₦50,000 and ₦500,000 for new startups, while existing micro and small enterprises can access larger enterprise funding. Apart from financial assistance, the initiative also offers training, mentorship, and business development support to ensure long-term sustainability.
