ABUJA | OCT 29: The management of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has released guidelines for applicants who have been having upkeep payment issues on how to fix the problem and start receiving their monthly upkeep.
In an update posted on its X handle on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, the student loan agency directed applicants facing payment issues to reset their account details on the Student Loan Portal.
“All applicants who previously experienced issues with their upkeep payments are advised to log in and update their account details to ensure smooth processing,” the instruction says.
Should I reset my account details?
If you have been receiving your monthly upkeep, you don’t need to reset your bank account details. You only need to reset your account details if you mistakenly entered a wrong or non-existent bank account.
Yes, the bank account will be updated to a new one. However, this update or new development doesn’t affect you if you don’t have issues with your existing bank account. If your existing bank account is correct and you have been receiving upkeep, ignore this message.
Clear your cache and try again. Alternatively, wait a few minutes and try later since it is a new development.
Yes, if it shows “approved.” However, you still have to create a support ticket to follow up.
Clear your cache, try using another browser, or try again later. It may be due to traffic on that specific section of the portal. You can imagine the number of students trying to do the same thing at the same time as you.
