In a recent update from the management of Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo State, it says it got approval for 11 additional undergraduate programmes.
The approval aligns with Section 10 (l) of the Education (National Minimum Standard and Establishment of Institution) Act, CAP E3, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 20024, which saddles the Nation Universities Commission (NUC) with the power to spell out the the minimum academic standards for all academic programmes taught in Nigerian universities and give approval to the one that meets the standard.

The institution, which got NUC operating license on January 7, 2005, disclosed that its Radiography and Radiation Science course has an interim accreditation.
The Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof Timothy Adebayo, whose leadership continued to witness approval for new courses in the faith-based private institutions attributed the feat to his team’s tireless hard work and commitment to providing high-quality education. In June, the institution also disclosed that it was ready to issue three certificates to its graduates.
The Professor of Entomology and Pesticide Toxicology, who described the accreditation process as a rigorous one, says it involves painstaking evaluation and assessment by the NUC team.
Adebayo said the accreditation is a victory for students who have been yearning to study their desired courses at the institution, saying, “Accredited courses ensure that our students receive education that is recognised and respected both nationally and internationally.”
