The Federal Ministry of Education (FME), through the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme, has begun onboarding trainee applicants, with the status of successful candidates now showing “registered.”
Applicants are advised to log in to the TVET dashboard to check whether they have been shortlisted for the vocational training programme. Our reporters gathered that some applicants who did not make the list will see “rejected” on their dashboard.

The federal government aims to close the skill gap in the country after realising that obtaining a degree without adequate skills has contributed to the high rate of unemployment—among other objectives of the TVET programme
The programme is categorised into three: Short Term Certificate (STC) and Vocational Education; Innovation (VEI); and Technical College Track (TCT). STC (six months of training) targets young people who have just completed secondary school (SSCE); VEI (12 months) is designed for individuals with higher education degrees who want to complement their qualifications with practical skills; while TCT runs for three years.
Onboarded applicants will see information such as their full name, registered email, phone number, state, local government area, bank name, address, and bank account number for receiving monthly support.
You can log in through https://www.tvet.education.gov.ng/login to check your status. Only those whose status shows “registered” will be eligible to participate in the technical training programme at selected training centres across the country.
In the meantime, over 1,000 accredited centres in the ongoing phase have begun enrolling applicants assigned to their centres for immediate training across the country.
