Plateau State University, Bokkos, has disclosed that it received the sum of ₦163,706,000 in student loans for the payment of tuition fees for 1,882 students of the institution.
The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Shedrack Gaya Best, made this known in an acknowledgement letter addressed to the Managing Director of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).
The letter read:
“On behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Staff, and students of Plateau State University, Bokkos, I write to acknowledge the receipt of the sum of ₦163,706,000.00 only as students’ education loan in favour of 1,882 students of our university on Tuesday, 11th March 2025.”
The professor of International Relations and Peace Building, who lauded the initiative, says the loans would promptly be disbursed to offload the tuition fees of the beneficiary students of the institution.
Similarly, NELFUND has also disclosed that it disbursed over ₦34 million for the payment of 583 students’ school fees of Federal Polytechnic, Ede, while the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT Minna), has acknowledged the receipt of over ₦192 million as loans for 3,209 students of the institution.
