A team from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has visited the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to explore potential collaboration in skill development.

The visit, led by Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, Managing Director of NELFUND, on Monday, January 20, 2025, aligns with the key components of the ruling party’s Renewed Hope agenda.
It remains unclear whether the skill development collaboration will focus on NELFUND staff or undergraduate students who are beneficiaries of the education loan.
NELFUND has partnered with various institutions to enhance the success of its program. These collaborations have often involved enlightening institutions and prospective applicants about the benefits of the loan.
The education loan was initiated in 2024 for undergraduate students at public institutions across Nigeria.
As of January 1, 2025, N20,075,050,006.55 has been disbursed in tuition fees and upkeep for 192,906 students across higher institutions in Nigeria.
