The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has identified Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Nnamdi Azikiwe University, and Ibadan Polytechnic among the 200 tertiary institutions across Nigeria that have not submitted their students’ data for the 2024/2025 student loan application process.
EdubaseNG earlier reported that the student loan agency extended the submission for a 48-hour window for these institutions to comply.
According to NELFUND, institutions must upload student information to the Student Loan Application System (SLAS) to enable their students to access the loan scheme.
The agency’s Director of Strategic Communications, Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, announced that the portal would be open from midnight on Sunday, October 12, 2025, until midnight on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
The extension was to ensure all eligible students are verified by their institutions for the ongoing 2024/2025 loan application cycle.
He urged institutions to seize this final opportunity, warning that failure to submit the required data within the specified period would exclude them from the current loan cycle, potentially depriving their students of the scheme’s benefits.
