JUST IN: NELFUND Disburses Over ₦175 Million in Institutional Loans to 1,441 KASU Students

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has confirmed the disbursement of ₦175,079,000 in student loans to 1,441 students of Kaduna State University (KASU).

The loan agency made this announcement on Thursday, April 3, 2025, while providing an update on the ongoing disbursement of education loans to undergraduates in government-owned higher institutions across the country.

Similarly, NELFUND has also disbursed ₦96,000 in institutional loans to two students of Kaduna State College of Education.

Both institutions have acknowledged receipt of the disbursed funds. The education loan initiative is part of the current administration’s agenda to make higher education accessible to underprivileged students nationwide, allowing applicants to apply for tuition and upkeep loans.

The programme aims to reduce the school dropout rate and ensure that every Nigerian has unrestricted access to higher education.

It was launched in 2024 and is currently open for the 2024/2025 academic session.
