Graduates of Ajayi Crowther University To Get 3 Certificates Upon Graduation -

Graduates of Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo State, will now get three certificates: standard degree certificate, a Mind Education certificate, and an Entrepreneurship Training certificate.

This makes ACU the first higher institution in Nigeria to issue triple certificates to its graduates. A statement from the university authority quoted the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Timothy Abiodun Adebayo, as describing it as “unprecedented in the history of tertiary education in Nigeria.”

A statement sent to EdubaseNG points out that the Mind Education initiative is as a result of Adebayo’s visit to South Korea in 2023, where he participated in the International Youth Fellowship (IYF) program alongside other heads of higher institutions from Nigeria.

According to him, the mind education project is being used to combat social vices in Asian countries and “the same can be used to combat social vices among youth in Nigeria’s higher institutions.”

And the incorporation of the mind education programme into the curriculum of ACU was announced during a visit by a team of Mind Education professionals from South Korea and China.

The private institution has already held its first Mind Education Camp, employing games, dance, lectures, and other activities while students will be required to write examinations in Mind Education and Entrepreneurship Training at the end of their training.

Adebayo, a Professor Entomology and Pesticide Toxicology, who expressed his happiness after signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Mind Educators said training has commenced immediately, “and students will be awarded certificates of international status upon graduation from the university.”

Aim of the mind education project at ACU

Speaking on the aims of the initiative, the the project coordinator, Robert Udo, says the programme will:

to reshape the mindset of the youth to overcome social vices like sexual violence, drug abuse, and other corrupt practices.
to help youth confront their challenges and integrate better into society.
to foster personal growth and positive mindset development.
to help students develop a strong, and positive mindset.
to help in contributing positively to their communities.
for ACU graduates to be sound academically and mentally prepared to face societal challenges.

Mind education is a way of developing a positive mindset through the acquisition of knowledge and skills related to emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and self-regulation.

According to a Mind Educationist, Dr. Dr. Gardner Rh -Life Sophy, in an article says “incorporating mind education and training in education institutions can have a significant impact on the personal and academic success of students.”
