The Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare (FUHSA), has confirmed the receipt of N14,170,000 from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).
This sum represents the first batch of education loans for the payment of tuition fees for 73 students for the 2024/2025 academic session.
In a letter signed by Husain M. Hussain on behalf of the institution’s registrar, the Bauchi-based university expressed its anticipation of receiving subsequent payments from the loan agency.
“While expressing our profound gratitude and appreciation for your support, please, accept the assurances of the Vice-Chancellor’s highest regards,” the institution says in a letter directed to the office of the Managing Director of the loan agency.

Similarly, the Federal University of Health Sciences Ila-Orangun (FUHSI), Osun State, has confirmed the receipt of ₦7,448,000 on behalf of 29 students, marking the first batch of disbursements to the institution.
In an acknowledgment letter sent to the Managing Director of NELFUND and signed by FUHSI’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Akeem Olawale Lasisi, the university disclosed that the payment was verified through a bank statement obtained from the institution’s e-collection account domiciled with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
NELFUND is a government agency responsible for managing education loans for undergraduate students attending public institutions across Nigeria.
The agency disburses loans for both tuition fees and student upkeep. While tuition loans are paid directly into the students’ school accounts, upkeep loans are credited to the students’ personal accounts.
