In what can be described as a “can-do spirit” and “never give-up” attitude, one of the beneficiaries of the 3MTT Knowledge Showcase, Ngozi Chinedu Ezenwa, has shared an inspiring story of how she started interacting with Artificial Intelligence (AI) to acquire new skills she never thought were possible.
According to her, the experience started like a joke, as she wasn’t a tech-savvy person, but she pushed on to learn what has been life-changing for her while she remained consistent and “refused to be broken” by initial failures.
In a Facebook post shared on her page, Ezenwa said:
My first 3MTT Knowledge Showcase under Data Analysis and Visualisation was a challenging journey. I was called for the interview, but unfortunately, my name didn’t make the final list. It hurt, but I refused to be broken.
I tried again the second time, and this time I wasn’t even called for the interview. 2024 passed. Cohort 3 began their Knowledge Showcase in May 2025, and we were given three project options. I chose the AI-powered solution, even though I felt unsure because I had little knowledge about AI integration.
Still, I didn’t give up.
I reached out to my friend, Chinyere Faith, and asked if she had seen the update. She said, “Ngo, this one hard oo.” I asked if she had ideas on integrating AI, and she encouraged me to check YouTube, reminding me that AI can be integrated into Excel.
Even though I was confused, I told myself, “I can do this.”
I started my research with ChatGPT and discovered the AI-Aided Formula Editor. From there, I continued learning on YouTube and practising the integration.
To cut the long story short, I completed my Knowledge Showcase and submitted it on the final day.
When others started getting interview calls and I didn’t, I felt discouraged. I called Chinyere again, and she told me to stay calm because names had not been released yet. She reminded me that someone in the previous cohort wasn’t called but still made the list.
I held on to that hope.
A few days later, I received a message from my Community Manager, Mr. Mmerichukwu Anosike, saying:
“Congratulations Ezenwa Maryann Ngozi for your win.”My joy knew no bounds. Calls, messages, and congratulations started pouring in. I had won a brand-new HP laptop.
Why am I sharing this?
To encourage anyone out there: you can do it too.
Consistency, determination, and hard work truly pay off. If you believe in yourself and put in your best, you can go farther than you imagine.
The 3MTT Knowledge Showcase is a tech empowerment initiative by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), an agency of the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy. 3MTT stands for 3 Million Technical Talent, designed to empower three million Nigerians who want to build careers in technology.
