Ede Poly receives ₦34 million from NELFUND as tuition fee for 583 students

The management of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State, popularly known as Ede Poly, has acknowledged the receipt of ₦34,664,528.90 as institutional loans on behalf of 583 students.

In an acknowledgment letter signed by the Acting Registrar of the institution, M.O. Olajide, and seen by EdubaseNG, the institution expressed appreciation to the management of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), stating that this “kind gesture will go a long way to assist the beneficiaries in achieving excellence in the pursuit of their academic” goals.

Ede Poly is one of the institutions that initially faced challenges integrating its platform with the NELFUND system. It took a campaign by NELFUND to the institution before students were eventually able to apply for the interest-free loan to support their studies.

Even at that, the institution still blocks students in ND 1 and HND 1 from accessing the loan, mandating them to first pay tuition fees out-of-pocket before they can be issued a matriculation number, one of the essential requirements for applying for the loan.
