The authorities of Bayero University Kano, on Friday, December 27, 2024, promoted Nigeria’s Minister of State for Education, Suwaiba Said Ahmad, to the rank of full professor.
The Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation made the announcement through a congratulatory message the Ministry of Education sent to Suwaiba Ahmad on Saturday.
A communiqué signed by the Director of Press & Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Information, Boriowo Folasade, stated that the Ministry of Education described Suwaiba Ahmad’s elevation to a professor of science education as a testament to her “unparalleled dedication to academic excellence and her significant contributions to the advancement of science education in Nigeria and beyond.”
The Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, described Professor Ahmad as an embodiment of knowledge in teaching and education management, praising “her exemplary service to education at both national and global levels.”
Similarly, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Dr. Sani-Gwarzo, hailed her promotion as a reflection of her dedication and “a fitting acknowledgment of her invaluable contributions to the development of science education in Nigeria.”
Other Academic Staff Promoted to the Rank of Professor
Similarly, 44 academic staff members from prestigious universities were promoted to the rank of professor, while 22 academic doctors were elevated to the position of Reader (Associate Professor) for the year 2024.
Apart from the Minister of State for Education, Suwaiba Said Ahmed, who was among those promoted, the following individuals were elevated to full professorship:
