A corps member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has confirmed the payment of ₦77,000 as a monthly allowance for March 2025.
The corps member, with the handle @CorperRaye on X, simply tweeted with a screenshot of the credit alert from the federal government:

“Finally, the ₦77,000 allawee has landed,” stating that it is better late than never.
Another user, @NaijaCorper, expressed relief over the payment, saying:
“After months of waiting, we can now breathe. Kudos to those who made this possible.”
Another serving corps member, @haykins05 said:
“She is our hero, the nysc girl should be place on the portal” referring to Ushie Uguamaye also known as Raye
In September 2024, the federal government promised to implement the new minimum wage for corps members following the National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Act 2024.
Since then, the government had repeatedly given excuses for the delay—until corps member Raye began a 30-day rant on social media, calling out President Bola Tinubu for implementing economic policies that have made life miserable for corps members and average Nigerians.
Earlier this month, the new Director-General of NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, vowed to do everything within his power to ensure the payments commenced in March 2025.
A few days ago, the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, decalred that serving corps members, as well as those in the scheme during the announcement, would receive backlog of payments to cover the delayed period.
Before this increase, the monthly allowance for corps members was ₦33,000.
