The Federal University of Education (FUE), Zaria, Kaduna State, has commenced admission for the 2025/2026 academic session. This was made known in a communiqué seen by our reporter on Wednesday.
The institution advised all candidates who selected FUEZ as their second choice in JAMB to visit any JAMB-accredited CBT centre “to obtain a JAMB Green Card and effect a change of institution to the Federal University of Education, Zaria.”
Similarly, the institution announced that “prospective candidates with the 2025 Direct Entry (DE) can now begin their application process for admission into the university.”
Admission Procedure
After successfully completing the application process, all candidates are to proceed to the Academic Office for screening.
The statement added that the institution will not admit applicants for any NCE programmes during the 2025/2026 academic session “following the upgrade of the institution to the Federal University of Education, Zaria.”
The Federal College of Education (FCE), Zaria, was first upgraded to a university in May 2015 by the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan, but his successor, President Muhammadu Buhari, reversed the decision barely three months after taking office. Again, Buhari began the process of the upgrade before leaving office, but he couldn’t complete it before his exit in May 2023.
Barely a year into his tenure, the administration of President Bola Tinubu approved the upgrade of the institution to the Federal University of Education, Zaria, in September 2024, along with other colleges of education across the country.
