ABUJA | OCT 31: The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, today in Abuja launched the Electronic Content Management (ECM) System as part of the Ministry’s digital transformation agenda to revolutionize service delivery, accountability, and efficiency.
The minister said the ECM system will eliminate duplication, reduce errors, and ensure secure, transparent, and speedy record management. He directed the ICT Department to lead its implementation ahead of the December 31, 2025, digitalization deadline given to all federal ministries by the APC-led government.
To guard against power interruption, Alausa stated that plans are underway to provide a solar-powered backup to sustain uninterrupted operations of the system, which he described as part of the ministry’s digital agenda.
Speaking during the launch, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, praised the Education Ministry’s leadership for setting the pace “that will be a model for MDAs.”
The digitalization reform agenda is consistent with Pillar 5 of the Federal Civil Service Strategic Plan (2021–2025).
The event was attended by other top civil servants in the ministry and other government functionaries.
