UPDATE: Application for PG 2024/2025 session has closed at Ahmadu Bello University. Applicants who attended the screening exercise, which held on February 8, 2025, have been directed to check admission notification on their portal and check the instructions.
In case you missed it, the sale of the postgraduate forms for Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, for the 2024/2025 academic session began on August 26, 2024, and the application will close on November 26, 2024 (extended till January 31, 2025)
One common issue applicants face is the inability to sign up on the application portal, a prerequisite for beginning the application process.
You might encounter an error message like “something went wrong” if you previously applied on the ABU portal and are trying to use the same email address to sign up again.
This issue often arises, for example, if you applied for ABU postgraduate admission in 2019 but didn’t complete the application or failed to accept the admission. If you now try to use the same email address in 2024, the system will show an error.
What to Do:
Instead of signing up again, use the login button.
Enter the email address you used during your last application.
Input your email address, and you’re in. If you’ve forgotten the password, click forgot password and check your inbox to reset it.
If you can’t find the reset password email, send a complaint to the official email address of the School of Postgraduate Studies (spgs.helpcentre@abu.edu.ng and spgs@abu.edu.ng) or call their support number to follow up.
Interesting Fact:
The institution retains your information in its database for years, so you’ll find everything intact whenever you want to apply again. You only need one account and can select your preferred program.
Upon accessing your account, you will find your previous application information on your dashboard. All you need to do is update it, upload recent photos, and proceed to purchase the application form.
After that, you can begin processing your transcript from your last institution, especially if ABU isn’t your alma mater.
Where Can I Apply?
If you are a first-time applicant, you need to first create an account on the institution’s site at https://portal.abu.edu.ng/forms.
Pay attention to the application procedure.
Check if the institution offers your preferred course of study.
Ensure you meet the admission requirements, such as having five O’level credits, including English and Mathematics, obtained in no more than two sittings.
The cost of the application is still N10,000.00 (excluding bank charges).
For PhD applicants, you must upload a proposal for your intended research work, which should not exceed 300 words
