Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, will open its portal on Monday, August 4 for the 2025 Post UTME/DE screening exercise for eligible candidates seeking admission into the institution for the 2025/2026 academic session. The online registration portal will close on Thursday, August 21.
Although not explicitly stated, candidates must have chosen Ahmadu Bello University as their first choice in the last Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations.
Registration Portal
Candidates are directed to visit the ABU portal at https://portal.abu.edu.ng/ to fill out the forms, or click on 2025/2026 Post UTME registration on the ABU website at https://abu.edu.ng/. and print a copy of their registration slip.
Registration Fee
According to a statement issued and signed by the Registrar of the institution, Mallam Rabiu Samaila, candidates with a UTME score of 180 and above, and eligible Direct Entry candidates, are to pay ₦2,000 as a registration fee for the exercise.
The institution stated that candidates do not need to visit the main campus or travel to Zaria to make payment for the screening exercise, as “payment can be made online using ATM card or by printing the transaction slip for the payment in any commercial banks” in Nigeria.

Candidates are advised to come to the venue of the screening tests with their original JAMB slip and Post-UTME registration printouts.

Screening tests for Post UTME candidates are scheduled as follows:
Monday, August 18, 2025: Faculty of Agriculture; Faculty of Arts; Faculty of Engineering; Faculty of Life Sciences; Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences; Faculty of Physical Sciences; Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
Tuesday, August 19, 2025: Faculty of Administration; Faculty of Law; Faculty of Management Science; Faculty of Social Sciences.
Wednesday, August 20, 2025: Faculty of Allied Health Sciences; Faculty of Education; Faculty of Environmental Design.
Thursday, August 21, 2025: Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences; Faculty of Clinical Sciences (MBBS); Faculty of Dentistry.
Screening Test Venue
The institution further clarifies that candidates can take the screening test at any of the following venues:
- Iya Abubakar Institute of Information and Computing Technology (IAIICT)
- Distance Learning Centre (DLC)
- Computer-Based Tests (CBT) Centre
The institution warned that, “Any UTME/DE candidate who fails to register for the screening exercise on ABU’s Post UTME/DE registration portal will not be eligible for the screening test and admission into the university.”
Candidates are also advised to ensure that their subject combinations are correct. “Candidates with incorrect subject combinations may change to a more appropriate programme (course) on the JAMB portal,” the statement said.
