Zaria, Oct 21 – Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, has urged all candidates offered provisional admission for the 2025/2026 academic session to confirm and print their admission letters on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) without delay.

- Candidates yet to upload their O’Level results on the JAMB portal risk losing their admission.
- The 2025 admission exercise officially closes on October 31, 2025.
- Over-subscribed programmes include Architecture, MBBS, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Computer Science.
- Affected students are advised to switch to other programmes with available spaces.
The University Management said this is necessary to finalize the admission process and avoid forfeiture.
According to the university, some candidates recommended by their faculties could not be processed because their O’Level results were missing from the JAMB CAPS.
The institution has therefore directed all affected applicants to visit any accredited CBT centre to upload their results immediately.
“Candidates should comply promptly to avoid forfeiture of their admission status,” the notice read.
Change of programme advised
In line with the JAMB policy, ABU noted that candidates not admitted into oversubscribed courses such as Architecture, MBBS, Nursing Science, Doctor of Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Science, Radiography, Dentistry, Civil Law, Computer Science, Mass Communication, and International Studies should change to related programmes with available spaces.
The bulletin listed alternative programmes available to candidates in the following fields:
- Architecture candidates may switch to Building, Geomatics, Geography, or Urban and Regional Planning.
- Medicine-related fields can opt for Biological or Environmental Sciences, Education, or Health-related disciplines.
- Computer Science candidates may move to Electronics, Telecommunication Engineering, or related fields.
- Civil Law and Shariah/Islamic Law applicants can consider History, International Studies, or Sociology.
Deadline for changes
The university stated that all changes of course must be completed by Friday, October 24, 2025, as spaces would be reassigned afterward.
It also urged candidates, parents, and guardians to reach out to the Admissions Office for clarification between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. daily.
