Nigeria’s Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Uche Nnaji, has resigned following an online investigative report detailed how he forged his academic qualification.

The Enugu State politician has been under fire for presenting counterfeit university and NYSC certificates to the National Assembly after President Bola Tinubu nominated him as a minister in 2023.

Nnaji had claimed to be a graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), a claim the institution has publicly denied.

The university disclosed that although he was once offered admission, he failed to complete his studies due to repeated poor academic performance.

The presidency has remained silent since Nnaji, a member of the Federal Executive Council, became entangled in the certificate forgery scandal.
