Maryam Abacha American University of Niger (MAAUN) has congratulated one of its graduates, Abdulkareem Maude, on his nomination as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Kano State.
Maude has also been named among the latest lawyers to be conferred with the title of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). The formal ceremony will take place at the Supreme Court on Monday.
In a statement, the university’s founder and president, Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, said Maude’s achievements reflected the institution’s values of excellence and integrity. He described him as a diligent lawyer who had distinguished himself in the profession.
Professor Gwarzo added that the recognition from both the Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, and the Supreme Court showed the depth of Maude’s contribution to the legal sector.
The university said his career milestones were a source of pride to the MAAUN community and would inspire current students and alumni. It reaffirmed its commitment to producing graduates who make meaningful contributions to national development.
