After an examination, it is result — and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) released the result of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on May 5, 2025. UTME is 400 Marks in Total.

You can see our guide on how to check your UTME result.

Here is the breakdown of how the 1,955,069 UTME candidates whose results have been released performed in the examination:

Score Below 200

The result showed that 983,187 candidates, representing 50.29% of the released results, scored between 160 and 199.

If we sum up the total number of candidates in this below-200 category, it means 1,534,654 out of 1,955,069 couldn’t make this mark, as detailed below:

  • 488,197 candidates, representing 24.97%, scored between 140 and 159

  • 3,820 candidates are in the range of 100 to 119, representing 0.20%
  • 2,031 candidates failed to even make it to 100, representing 0.10%

Verdict: From the above breakdown, it means 78.48% of the candidates scored below 200. In other words, only 21.52% scored 200 and above.
