The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the sale of application forms for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will begin on January 31, 2025.
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, disclosed in Abuja that the sale of forms will close on March 5, 2025.
The MOCK exam, scheduled for April 5, 2025, will precede the UTME, while the main exam will run from April 25, 2025, to May 5, 2025.
Oloyede, a former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, clarified that the mock UTME is specifically designed for candidates below the age of 16 to test their abilities ahead of the main exam.
Direct Entry
For the Direct Entry (DE) forms, he stated that application documents and e-PIN vending will be available beginning March 10, 2025, and will close on April 7, 2025.
Application Fees
- Registration for mock exam and main UTME: ₦8,200
- UTME only: ₦7,200
Here is the breakdown of the fees payable by applicants:
- UTME/DE JAMB application fee: ₦3,500
- Reading Text: ₦1,000
- CBT Centre Registration Service Charge: ₦700
- CBT Centre UTME Service Charge: ₦1,500
- CBT Mock Service Charge: ₦1,500
- Bank Charges: ₦500
- CBT Mock-UTME Centre Charge: ₦1,500
Age Restriction
On the controversial issue of the acceptable age for admission, the JAMB boss stated that candidates must be at least 16 years old on or before September 30, 2025, to be considered for admission into any tertiary institution in Nigeria.
According to him, a brilliant candidate below 15 years old may be considered for admission if they score a minimum of 280 in their UTME and have exceptionally brilliant grades in their Senior Secondary Certificate (SSCE) and post-UTME examinations.
